
CWO Marc Boucher
Chief Warrant Officer Marc Boucher was born in Greenfield Park, QC, on March 22, 1976. He enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces in Montreal in 1997. After completing his basic training at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School (CFLRS), QC, he was posted to the Combat School at CFB Valcartier, QC. After completing his basic infantry course, he transferred to the 1st Battalion of the Royal 22e Régiment in December 1997.
In January 1998, he deployed to Montreal in support of the ice storm that hit southern Quebec and Ontario. In 1999, he deployed to Bosnia and Herzegovina as an infantry soldier. In 2001, he transferred trades and became a meteorological technician. After completing his basic meteorological course, he transferred to 8 Wing in Trenton, ON. In 2006, he deployed to Afghanistan where the first generation of drones were used by the CAF: TUAV SPERWER. He covered both Battle Groups of 1 PPCLI and 1 RCR during Operation Medusa. In 2007, he transferred to CFB Valcartier with the meteorological section of the 5e Régiment d’Artillerie légère du Canada. In 2009, he deployed to Afghanistan supporting guns in the battlefield and worked with American Forces.
In January 2010, a month after his return from Afghanistan, he redeployed to Haiti during Operation Hestia, following a deadly earthquake on the island. During the summer of 2010, he transferred to CFLRS and became an instructor. He instructed over 16 platoons, which included BMQ, BMOQ, and PLQ courses. In 2015, he was promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer and transferred to CFINTCOM in Ottawa as a meteorological inspector. He conducted weather inspections at CFS Alert and on the DEW line located in Canada’s Far North. In 2016, he was admitted to the Order of Military Merit, Member level. In 2018, he transferred to the Canadian Forces School of Meteorology, located at 17 Wing, Winnipeg, MB, as the Standards Master Warrant Officer.
On June 22, 2020, Master Warrant Officer Boucher was promoted to his current rank of Chief Warrant Officer and transferred to the Transition Unit Manitoba/Saskatchewan, as unit Chief. Since July 4 2023, he is the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School Chief Warrant Officer. In parallel with his military career, Chief Warrant Officer Boucher volunteers with St. John Ambulance since 2001. He climbed the ranks of the organization and reached the top by holding the prestigious position of Provincial Director of the Province of Quebec between 2011-2014.
He was promoted Knight of Grace of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem and appointed Honorary Aide de Camp for the province of Québec Lieutenant Governor
