Le prix Doreen et John Windsor est remis chaque année à un élève-officier du premier cycle qui entreprend sa dernière année du programme de baccalauréat en histoire avec spécialisation ou du baccalauréat en études militaires et stratégiques avec spécialisation, qui a fait preuve d’excellence dans un domaine de l’histoire canadienne, militaire, ou internationale. Le titulaire du prix est choisi au moyen d’un concours récompensant le meilleur essai ou la meilleure thèse originale portant sur un thème de l’histoire canadienne, militaire, ou internationale.
