About the Mathematics and Computer Science Department

The Mathematics and Computer Science Department at the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) is dedicated to fostering excellence in education, research, and professional development in the fields of mathematics and computer science. Our department provides a robust academic environment where students are encouraged to develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and technical proficiency necessary for their future careers as leaders in the Canadian Armed Forces and beyond.

Mission

Our mission is to deliver high-quality education in mathematics and computer science that equips our graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to address complex challenges in both military and civilian contexts. 

Programs

We offer a range of undergraduate and graduate programs designed to meet the diverse needs of our students. Our curriculum is continuously updated to reflect the latest advancements in the field and to ensure that our graduates are well-prepared for the dynamic demands of the modern world. Programs include:

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mathematics
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mathematics (Honours)
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science (Honours)

We also offer graduate programs leading to Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Mathematics or Computer Science, which are accessible to both military and civilian students. 

Minors

Our department offers minors that allow students to complement their major field of study with additional expertise. Available minors include:

  • Data Analytic

Research

Our faculty members are actively involved in research projects that address both theoretical and applied problems, contributing to advancements in areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, IoT, operations research, stochastic systems, game theory, and more.
